About the Webmaster
Jason Pauls is originally from Canada but now living in Washington state. He is
"Hawaiian at heart." Jason's first trip to Hawai'i was at the age of 12 back in
1977. That experience through a child's eyes had a lasting impression on him.
A few more trips occurred during his teen and young adult years but there was
a long absence after getting married. About a decade had past before he would
return to Hawai'i with his family only to fall in love all over again.

Jason now travels to Hawai'i at least once a year (if not more) and has become
a great fan of Hawaiian music. He has always been fascinated with Hawaiian
culture and history. He started Pacific Mele out of his love for Hawai'i and as a
way of giving back to a place that has brought him many fond memories. Jason
is currently a board member of the Northwest Hawai'i 'Ohana.

Dedication
Pacific Mele is dedicate to the memory of
David Tagami. I was a shy and awkward
12 year old boy when I came to Hawai'i for
the first time. David worked at the hotel we
stayed at and befriended me. He showed
me the aloha spirit and I believe his
friendship was a major reason why Hawai'i
has meant so much to me. Sadly, David
passed away a couple of years later.

Mahalo nui loa David for your gift to me.
